Live and learn, I am devoting this page to Anthony's discovery and the work I've chosen to do imaging (and hunting for anomalies in) this area.
There's one thing I must say about the Symbol Island area, besides remarking that some very impressive anomalous objects are to be found there, and that is that this area's striking "natural" (?) features make it a distinctive, memorable, and rather photogenic area of Mars. Even geographically or geologically speaking, this area should be much better known to all.
"For amusement purposes only", my first version of Symbol Island will appear here soon... fortunately, standards and my imaging skills have improved... just a little. Still, there is always so much to do and to look at that no one seems to have enough time for any single project, and as yet no comparative study has been done to determine just how much of this original image did or didn't represent reality. While imaging techiques can create illusions, they also have considerable power to unveil reality. Hence, this may still be a useful work, such as it is...
A more recent version of the same scene. At right, in yellow, is something in particular that is somehow one of the more convincing anomalies in my book. There is something about this structure and how it is situated that seems to make it hard to confuse it's glaringly artificial appearance with any doubts. Still, this whole image seems virtually full of amazing, anomalous things...
