MGS 38804d

Here is a clip from a fascinating image that is part of a series of fascinating MGS images, although they appear extremely faded as they are presented at the MGS image site, and appear to have data that is extremely degraded if no sooner than on conversion to jpeg with some compression. Recalling how this looked on my drawing board, it was much closer to doing this image justice then... I'm not sure I would have recognized many of the anomalies here in its present condition.

Still, there are some good examples here; the extremely peculiar aligment of lines at two different levels into a parallel position, that you can see at the left edge of the image colored in lime green, is remarkable.

Likewise, while the Cydonia-like face area leaves little to suggest another "Cydonia face" now, if you look carefully, you can see recognizable traces that suggest that this is, or was, another such monument, possibly suffering here from lack of contrast, or from heavier (and more homogenous?) erosion, perhaps due to a different manner of construction that used to create the Face on Mars at Cydonia.

At any rate, in psite of the particular difficulties, MGS image 38804 or all of its component browse images are seemingly worthy of whatever delicate imaging enhancement and careful study that are necessary to establish this as yet another of the anomalous areas of Mars bearing serious evidence of former advanced inhabitation.
